My nephew and his friends went on a fishing trip last fall. They planned to stay for a few days. The lure of the wild and the prospect of fishing for their meals were just so irresistible. Just life me, he loves the outdoors. We both love to hunt and fish whenever we can. One of his buddies arranged everything for their group. Nigel took care of the reels and rods. Another friend took care of the baits. They took no tents, a couple of their pals have aerolite travel trailers. These were great for trips. A buddy of mine also has one. Their group of six was easily accommodated by the trailers. These trailers have all the stuff they'll need. No need to bring along sleeping bags or stoves. They have refs to store their catch.These even have bathrooms.

Nigel brought his boat for the trip. I wanted to tag along with them. It has been awhile since I went fishing. My hectic schedule did not permit me. I settled with helping my nephew pack his things. He promised to bring me some fish. After the trip, he went straight to our house to hand over a cooler filled with his catch. From the looks of it, the fish were really biting. My son and I are huge football fans. Watching Sunday night football has been a routine for both of us. We don't have any favorite teams, we just love the sport. We don't just watch, we're both collectors. I have my own collection and my son has his. I have been collecting longer than he has. I have a complete set of NFL Uniforms from the '80s to the present. He has several helmets as well as jerseys. We also have a collection of every Super Bowl since the '90s.

Aside from collecting NFL stuff, we also belong to a father and son club. We play football twice a month. The fathers form one team and the sons another. It fun and safe. Tag football is less physical. I can't imagine my son running me to the ground. He's big, bigger than me. Plus, some of us oldies are not that fit anymore. We just like enjoying the sport that unites us. The winner of our games get bragging rights with pizza thrown in with the win.

Football will not be complete without barbeque. During Super Bowl weekend, we host the meanest barbeque in town. Our friends would come to our place and watch the game there. I guess we're more than just fans, we're a cult.

On a recent trip to Singapore, I witnessed a young boy jump to his death. I asked my Singaporean friend why boys as young as the one I saw would do such a thing. With my work requiring me to be always on the go, it's important for me to online most of the time. A laptop would be to cumbersome to tote around. Having a tablet is a logical option. No time to go around to buy one so I tried to get the Best tablet online instead. I'm happy I did. I can now get updates from my colleagues whenever I want.

I finally bought my son an xbox headset. You know how kids nowadays play everything full blast. His video games constantly disturb my work. For a peaceful coexistence, I got him the headset. He has been using it to my relief. He enjoys his games while I can do my work in peace. I'm so happy we've solved our noise issue. We both have peace at last. No noisy gaming, no nagging Dad.

Saddle Up

My son will be taking riding lessons next summer. This early, he's been bugging me to buy him his riding equipment and apparel. He got the idea of taking lessons when he saw my old pictures when I used to ride. My old equestrian boots sits at the corner of my office. I hope he takes his lessons seriously. It's a good sport and takes a lot of dedication.

I remember during my younger years how I would cruise around town on Saturday nights. I would hang around with friends at a local diner. I had a cooler full of beer and the rest of the gang would bring food and music. I would wear my ray-ban sunglasses while we drove around to check out the local happenings. The '80s was a blast and we knew how to have fun. No fights and drugs, everyone was a friend.

Who said people over the age of forty can't party? My buddies and I recently received Adult Birthday Invitations from an old college friend we haven't seen for quite some time. He was able to find us through a social networking site. We're all excited to see him and meet his family. I wonder what he has in store for us. His invitation says the party is strictly for adults only. It makes me curious and excited at the same time.

Our senior project engineer is set to retire next month. We are planning to give him a good sendoff. Aside from a party, we will be giving him gifts. My secretary has listed several retirement gifts for men. My staff will be choosing one item from this list to avoid duplication. Don will surely love what we'll give him. Hardworking and dependable, we will definitely miss him.

I can't help but feel sorry for Tiger Woods. Everyone wanted a piece of before the scandal. Now everyone has abandoned him. After squeezing every dollar they could get out of his popularity, they're dropping him like a hot potato. I don't think Tiger deserves to be treated this way. He made the PGA big. The sports of gold never had it so good. If ever Tiger overcomes this forgettable phase of his life, I hope he rejects every predator that comes his way. He should learn from this experience.

The sad reality is that he was exploited by everyone including his wife. I'm still a big fan no matter what. I hope hhim well.

I bought my wife new shoes. She has always wanted a pair of boots. I wanted to surprise her. I know her size so I went ahead and ordered a pair of fergie shoes online. I chose the style she wanted. It's a late birthday present for her. I addressed the package to her and she'll be surprised when it finally arrives. I'm pretty sure she'll love it. Chalk one up for me.

Our village annually hosts Trick or Treat for the kids in our community. Every homeowner tries his best to make his house as "scary" as possible. We put up some of the best Halloween decorations you can find. Every year, the kids really look forward to seeing what we have in store for them. They love both the decorations and the goodies we give them. This year, I'll try to outdo myself. I'll make sure that my house will have the best decorations in our village.

Phil. Dragon Boat Team Wins Gold

The refused to fund the Phil. Dragon boat team in their qiest to defend their world championship on Tampa, Florida. Private entities were able to raise enough funds to get them there. They just won the gold in the 1000m race. They will be competing in four more events. The Philippine Sports Commission refused to recognize the Phil. Dragon boat Federation despite its international successes. I would attribute it to politics again. The Phil. team once again showed that despite lacking government support, they can be successful.

I hate it when politics and arrogance dictates the direction of sports. There are very few sports wherein the Filipino athlete can excel. We have to determine these and concentrate the funding and support for these sports. Unfortunately, the PSC refuses to recognize this. I thought the new officials would know what to do because they are former athletes. I was wrong.

To the Phil. Dragon boat team, congratulations. I look forward to your success in the events to come.

I tagged along with my wife the other day. She was picking up her order of lucite beads. She's been jewelry crafting for several years now. She's giving them away as presents for her friends and our children's teachers for Christmas. This is just one of the many hobbies she enjoys. Our daughter has taken after her and she's into it as well. Every piece she makes is a true labor of love.

I treat insurance as an investment. Every savings I have, I invest in it. It's not simply an investment but a security for my family. Either way, I'm a winner. I don't work hard for myself, I work so my family can have a good life. I have been sent several term life insurance quotes. I will of course be studying them carefully and choose the one that I will benefit from the most. This one investment I can't get enough of.

Deer Hunter

On a trip to Canada, I got to go hunting. My guide was a seasoned deer hunter and knew the mountain trails very well. I was adamant to shot anything really. Near a stream, we hunkered down in a hide he used hundreds of times. A young stag soon came into sight and drank from the stream. I struggled to raise my Remington with a barska scope. He knew I can't do it and took the shot himself. We had venison steak that evening. I ate a lot as he grinned at me. I'm better at eating than shooting.

I used to play football until I busted my knees. What I lacked in size, I made up in heft. I could tackle too and it surprised the bigger players. I gave no quarters and always played my heart out. Sadly, my knees could not take it. I fondly remember how my teammates gave me football gifts when my left knee was operated on. It was a nice gesture. Our coach treated us to pizza when I got out of the hospital. I really miss playing football.

Birthday Wish

My son's birthday is coming up and I wanted to get him some new games fro his console. I barely have the time to go searching in the mall. I have to know the exact location. I asked my son-in-law where can I buy ps3 games? He knew several shops and gave their addresses to me. My son gave me a list of the games he likes. The first shop I went to had all the games he wanted. I sure he's going to have a blast playing these.

Gearing Up For Summer

A few weeks before the start of summer, my cousin readied his RV for the long haul. They'll be traveling by road to three states. He contracted a motor home repair shop to do some maintenance work to ensure a trouble-free road trek. They'll going to the south this year. This has been an annual practice of their family. His kids always look forward to summer. They get to visit and learn about the states. I am very sure it's going to be another great summer for them.

My uncle suffered a stroke not too long ago. This left him paralyzed and has since been unable to work. This put a strain on his finances. My aunt works but her earnings is not enough to meet their daily expenses. My uncle's only option to help ot was to file a claim for social security disability benefits. This would also cover his medical expenses. Of course their kids are also helping them out. At least now, they can put aside their financial worries.

Farm In The Suburbs

I dropped by a friend's place in the suburbs a couple of weeks ago. He's into organic foods and he asked me to come over to see his little farm in the suburbs. I was awestruck when I walked into his backyard. He wasn't joking. Rows of vegetables and herbs filled a big portion of his lot. I am very impressed at how well-kept his fabulous garden is. Neatly tucked in a corner are some backyard chicken coops. He harvest his eggs there and from time to time, chicken for dinner. I stayed for dinner to sample his organic foods. From the salad to the roasted chicken, everything he served were very delicious.

Reckless!

I've seen everything. The Monaco Grand Prix was incident-packed. From the get-go, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was a reckless demon. From start to finish, he was involved in four incidents which led to three DNFs. He banged wheels with Michael Schumacher in turn 1 of the first lap. He squeezed Felipe Massa at the hairpin which led to an accident in the tunnel. He tagged Adrian Sutil which punctured Sutil's left rear tire just before the race was red-flagged. On the restart, he made a reckless overtaking and clipped Maldonado's rear right wheel that cause d Maldonado to hit the wall.

The FIA should look into these actions carefully. Racing in itself is dangerous. It becomes even more dan if you allow reckless drivers to race. Hamilton maybe a good driver, a clean driver he is not. Time penalties are not enough to teach him a lesson. He should be fined heavily and even suspended if you ask me. Race drivers get paid to race and win. They are not paid to get injured by an arrogant driver.

My Baby's Home

While attending an out-of-town convention, I came across a Honda Civic Type R. It was so gorgeous and I told myself I just have to have it. I have always wanted one and it was a very rare find. I planned it to be a project car. It was in pristine condition and a first-owned car. The owner, a retired serviceman based in Japan was firm about the price at first. After a few minutes of haggling, he slashed $500 off his asking price. I told him I'll be shipping it home instead of driving it. Along with the car were a few mods that he never got to install. After finishing all the paperwork, I prepared it for shipping. I chose an Auto transport enclosed so that my new "baby" would be protected during the entire travel. I planed home and waited anxiously for it to arrive.

In just a couple of days, my baby was delivered to my doorstep. It was as clean as when I shipped it. I've been busy ordering parts for it and can't wait to get started.

Car Show Fanatic

An avid car collector, my friend enter his cars in almost every car show around the country. He has vintage cars and hot rods in his collection. Cheap auto transport is what he uses to bring his cars to these shows. Lately, he's been into import tuners most are Japanese cars. Some of my favorites is his '57 Chevy Bel Air, his chopped Model T and his Eleanor replica. His Japanese cars are to die for. His most recent acquisition is a Nissan Skyline R32. It's the first Skyline. If tuned properly, it can easily top 800 bhp. Its Veil Side body kit will leave you drooling.

He's stable of European cars is an envy of most of our buddies. He has a fully restored VW Karmann Ghia. Another VW eye-catcher is his 1303 Beetle with a modified engine. It's a muscle car killer. It's his daily drive and a monster at the drag races on weekends. He's so proud of his colection and enjoys sharing it with petrol heads lie him.
