Making the Most of Amenities in Apartment Complexes

Moving is one of life’s more stressful experiences but usually a good thing. People move for a number of reasons: Probably they prefer to be nearer to their workplace, or perhaps they want to get closer to their families.
Whatever the case, make sure that the new apartment has a convenient location and a safe neighborhood. Don’t forget about sports and recreational facilities as well. The amenities in apartment complexes should never be overlooked. In fact, they should factor a great deal in the decision to move.

Amenities in Apartment Complexes

Does the apartment have a dishwasher? How close are the laundry facilities? What about the surrounding neighborhood and what it has to offer?
Great amenities can command more rent money from tenants and make a so-so apartment a must-have place to live. But to find a true home-sweet-home, it’s important to look past the standard amenities and look for buildings that offer a little something extra … on top of all the extras.

On-site Services

Many apartments loudly tout their location and the in-apartment features they offer, such as washer/dryer hook-ups or automated dishwashing. On-site laundry facilities are also a big draw for many renters even when public facilities are nearby. City renters also need their parking and entertainment needs addressed. Nearby movie theaters and other recreational facilities are great amenities.

Sports Facilities

Sports and recreation should always factor into any decision to move. When looking among San Francisco apartments, look for the amenities in place that help apartment dwellers get the healthy, active lifestyle they need. Some apartments may offer on-site exercise facilities or reduced gym memberships as part of the amenities package—a very attractive and useful offer for those tenants who want to take advantage of it.

Recreational Areas

Apartments offering outdoor spaces are attractive because they're good for entertaining guests. Balconies, porches, even outdoor communal areas are great amenities to have. Complexes that boast swimming pools, tennis courts, or picnic facilities provide renters with the ability to entertain—a big plus.
Sports and recreation facilities are often overlooked during apartment searches, but it’s very important to make sure these amenities are nearby. Staying healthy and staying in shape is important, and the apartments that help their renters with these goals are a cut above the rest.

Some Apartment-Hunting Tips

Always check the amenities when shopping for apartments. Ask about any on-site amenities, both within the apartment complex and inside the apartment units themselves. It’s also a good idea to ask about any special deals and discounts offered through the apartment complex. Search for nearby amenities close to the apartment complex as well.
Make the most out of the amenities offered by apartment complexes because either way, the rent’s paying for those facilities. Why not use them to stay healthy and have fun, too? Amenities are considered to be “extras,” but they’re so widely offered these days that no apartment complex would stay around very long without offering them.
