Chasing Stories And Racing Cars

Ever wonder how some intrepid reporters somehow jumps the gun on the others? Technical directors of the most successful racing teams seems to know what the other teams are doing. These are possible not because they're fortunetellers but because they rely on the best system that cn intercept just about anything on the airwaves. This system is called a scanner. And when you talk of scanners, the best are the uniden scanners. These scanners come in different configurations and functions. You have the base which works in a fixed location like an office or home. Then there's the mobile which can be mounted on vehicles and the handheld which can be brought by the user anywhere he goes. These are two-way radios are the favorite of just about anybody. Aside from listening to police chatter or a rival racing team, these are also for communications. Safety crews also use them in rescues. Engineers in big construction also use these to communicate to their crews.

A reporter friend uses his scanner to monitor the police channels. This allows him to be where the story is and get his story out first before other reporters get to the scene of an incident. Others use the scanner for traffic updates. Traffic enforces use these to report road and traffic conditions. These scanners are essential to every agency and even business. NASCAR and even football coaches use these to communicate with their drivers, crews and players. You would notice those tiny radios clipped to their waists during races and games. Even the mining sector uses scanners.

Scanners will always be an integral part of daily life. Government and private entities will be using them in their operations. Phones cannot match the the things scanners can do.

Client's Call

I was in the middle of a meeting when I received a note from my secretary. Another client had some questions about the project I'm doing for them. It was a business conference call which I couldn't afford to miss. I excused myself and returned as soon as the call was up. It's hard juggling time but I need to make sure all my clients are satisfied.

Always On The Go

With my work requiring me to be always on the go, it's important for me to online most of the time. A laptop would be to cumbersome to tote around. Having a tablet is a logical option. No time to go around to buy one so I tried to get the Best tablet online instead. I'm happy I did. I can now get updates from my colleagues whenever I want.

Peace At Last

I finally bought my son an xbox headset. You know how kids nowadays play everything full blast. His video games constantly disturb my work. For a peaceful coexistence, I got him the headset. He has been using it to my relief. He enjoys his games while I can do my work in peace. I'm so happy we've solved our noise issue. We both have peace at last. No noisy gaming, no nagging Dad.

Saddle Up

My son will be taking riding lessons next summer. This early, he's been bugging me to buy him his riding equipment and apparel. He got the idea of taking lessons when he saw my old pictures when I used to ride. My old equestrian boots sits at the corner of my office. I hope he takes his lessons seriously. It's a good sport and takes a lot of dedication.

I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

I remember during my younger years how I would cruise around town on Saturday nights. I would hang around with friends at a local diner. I had a cooler full of beer and the rest of the gang would bring food and music. I would wear my ray-ban sunglasses while we drove around to check out the local happenings. The '80s was a blast and we knew how to have fun. No fights and drugs, everyone was a friend.

Mid-life Party

Who said people over the age of forty can't party? My buddies and I recently received Adult Birthday Invitations from an old college friend we haven't seen for quite some time. He was able to find us through a social networking site. We're all excited to see him and meet his family. I wonder what he has in store for us. His invitation says the party is strictly for adults only. It makes me curious and excited at the same time.

Sendoff

Our senior project engineer is set to retire next month. We are planning to give him a good sendoff. Aside from a party, we will be giving him gifts. My secretary has listed several retirement gifts for men. My staff will be choosing one item from this list to avoid duplication. Don will surely love what we'll give him. Hardworking and dependable, we will definitely miss him.
