After Juliana of Juliana's Lair blogged about her plagiarized posts, I somehow felt paranoid about my entries as well. It made me consider subscribing to copyscape which would protect my blogs. Unknown to many, I have a political blog that deals mainly on the Philippine socio-political situation. Some articles there have been published and some are being used as points of discussions by some professors in Europe. But never have I encountered a plagiarist. Those who use my articles ask for my permission explicitly and gives me due recognition.
It is quite alarming to hear about Juliana's misfortune. I do write paid posts and do so not only with creativity but with devoted research as well. Of course I do not want to be a victim of anybody who lacks intellect and ethics. I do not even lift verbatim from the advertiser's website. when I write a paid post. I did ask Juliana for the links so I can do some investigating of my own. One can never be sure if your work has been plagiarized by this individual.
Plagiarism is not just a crime, it's immoral and indecent. I do not know how this individual can sleep soundly at night knowing too well that he/she is feeding his/her family with money stolen from the hard work of another. It's simply disgusts me! I'm glad Juliana has decided to do the proper thing, take legal action against this thief. I'm sure this individual knows who he/she is. This community is small and you are bound to be found out sooner or later.
I know several bloggers, myself included, who maintain several blogs but painstakingly do our best to write original entries. We even write the same advertisements differently from across our blogs. My advice to this character, if you don't have the brain to write, then you don't have any business signing up with any advertiser. Take that minuscule brain of yours somewhere else. I'd rather read an entry full of errors but original, than a post well-written but stolen from some hapless blogger.
