My Apologies And Thanks

Some of you may have noticed that I have not been dropping lately. My favorite aunt just passed away. I've been visiting her from the time she was rushed to the hospital till the time she left us. At 3:00PM today, her ashes were finally laid to rest. I hope that you would not be taking it against me for missing my daily visits to your blogs.

To those who shared in my family's grief, thank you for the prayers, warmth, love and sympathies you shared with me and Liza. I'll just have to sort some things out then I'll do my regular visits. Again, my apologies and thanks to all.

What EC has To Do

The paid ads that EntreCard has asked us to consider is becoming a pain in the neck. It's unfair to those who buy adverts on our blogs with their hard earned credits. With all the paid ads lined up, our fellow EC members are getting the short end of the stick. I am one of those who supported Graham with this paid ad system but I never imagined it to be mishandled. Some kind-hearted bloggers have painstakingly added the widgets of their advertisers just to get the exposure they so deserve.

What the EC team should do is to develope a widget solely for the paid ads. I don't mind adding another widget on my blog just so my advertisers will get a fair shake. If you think my suggestion is workable with you, share this in the forums or in the EC blog. I hope Graham would listen or he may see an exodus of sorts.

An Afternoon With My Kid

My son's almost thirteen. I'm slowly introducing him to activities that men enjoy. I decided to bring him to a transport show today. He loves cars and has some of the rarest toy car collectibles you can ever imagine. He can racognize the more popular MODS you can put in your car. He was so excited and thrilled at our activity for the day.

He had prepared his cameras for our trip. As soon as we entered the place, he immediately began snapping pictures. He was so into it that he took photos of every car displayed in the place. To cap our afternoon off, we watched a precision driving exhibition featuring Russ Swift. He recorded the entire show. It was a perfect father-son bonding time. He's now looking forward the next car show. I'll be posting his pics next time.

Close Call

Coming from the wake of a friend last Tuesday night, I almost had an accident. While driving home, a drum was thrown from the back of a speeding truck which was about 80 meters in front of me. I did not hit the brakes fearing I could be rear-ended. Instead I slowed down and tried to anticipate where the drum would roll. I managed to swerve to the right but the drum still grazed my front bumper. The brand new Toyota which was on my left took the brunt of it.

The drum hit him squarely on the front puncturing his radiator. I also barely missed a motorcycle which was passing me on my right. So now my Dupont paint is ruined. I noticed several deep scratches on the lower portion of my bumper. I managed to repair the other scratches with my trusty Turtle Wax repair kit.

Had the drum bounced, it would surely hit my windshield. Truck drivers should secure their cargo properly to avoid this kind of mishap. What's worst, the driver did not even notice that he had dumped a drum. I'm just glad that no one got hurt. Damages to a car can be easily fixed, broken lives can never be cured.
